Plaintiff Grant McKee, Eric Weber and Michael Rogawski, filed a class action lawsuit, individually and on behalf of all similarly situated against defendants Audible and Amazon in relation to expiring user credits and charges of payment methods.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff alleged unlawful advertisements, incomplete disclosures, and expiration of credits. Plaintiff contended that when a customer previously canceled their membership with Audible, they were forced to give up the credits they paid for through their membership.Plaintiffs claimed Amazon charged cards for the service that were not authorized to be used for Audible subscription payment.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant asserted numerous defenses and denied each the claims.
Result
Amazon agreed to give customers 12 million free audiobooks to resolve the dispute.
