Peter Gutierrez, Katie Barry, Renn Gutierrez, and Marilyn Iversen, family members of decedent, Linda Iversen Gutierrez, filed a lawsuit against Felipe Capot, his employer Global Transport LLC, and Isaias Munoz in relation to a vehicle collision.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs contended that Capot was driving a tractor-trailer owned by Global Transport, when he rear-ended Linda's vehicle. As a result, Linda's vehicle collided into a third vehicle and the collisions led to her death. Plaintiffs asserted causes of action for negligence, negligence, negligence per se, negligent entrustment, negligent hiring, supervision, and or retention, and wrongful death.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied the contentions.

Result

The parties reached a settlement agreement in the amount of $142,000.
