Plaintiff Nicholas Emmerling filed suit against City of Mountain View in relation to his employment with the City of Mountain View police department.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff alleged that defendant violated the California Fair Employment and Housing Act for discrimination and retaliation based on military status. Additionally, plaintiff contended that he was illegally terminated by his supervisors because his police supervisors disapproved of his ongoing service in the Army National Guard.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant disputed plaintiff's claims.

Result

The parties agreed to settle for $325,000.
