Facts

Plaintiff Teodora tapis filed suit against Tesla in relation to an incident that occurred in August 2014 while plaintiff was working as a janitor at Tesla's Fremont warehouse.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that she was injured in August 2014 by a Tesla subcontractor, who struck her twice while attempting to move a car from one part of the Tesla's Fremont warehouse to another.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant disputed the allegations.

Injuries

Plaintiff claimed she was struck twice. The first impact crushed her left knee, which later developed sepsis, resulting in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Plaintiff claimed her leg will likely be amputated. The second impact injured her foot.

Result

Without any admission of liability, defendant agreed to settle the case for $13 million.
