Janell Alexander filed suit against the County of Los Angeles and Benito Madrid Licon in relation to a motor vehicle collision that occurred between Alexander and Licon on September 15, 2016.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Alexander alleged that Licon, a Los Angeles Sheriff's Department volunteer on patrol, made a left turn in front of her vehicle and caused the collision. Alexander claimed she suffered injuries as a result of Licon's negligent driving and the County was liable since Licon was on patrol as a LASD volunteer at the time.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendants neither admitted nor denied the allegations.
Result
The parties agreed to a settlement under which defendants agreed to pay $39,999 to settle Alexander's claims.
