Facts

Plaintiff Carol A. Ray applied for social security disability benefits under the Social Security Act. Ray's application was denied initially and on reconsideration. Ray then requested a hearing before an administrative law judge, who determined that Ray suffered from degenerative disc disease of the spine, but was not disabled. Ray filed for judicial review and moved for summary judgment. Defendant cross-motioned for summary judgment.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant erred by not giving the appropriate amount of weight to the medical opinions provided by Dr. Andrew Burt, plaintiff's examining physician, nor did defendant give enough weight to the medical opinions of plaintiff's treating physician, by Dr. Aruna Rao.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that it made no errors in determining that plaintiff was not disabled and argued that he gave the appropriate amount of weight to the medical opinions provided.

Result

The court entered judgment granting plaintiff's motion for summary judgment and denying defendant' cross-motion for summary judgment on the grounds that defendant did not give enough consideration to the medical opinions submitted.
