Facts

Plaintiff Gil Joong Jeon filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against defendants Ben Anderson and Michael Anderson regarding two collections of two-dimensional artwork that were registered to the copyright office to plaintiff.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendants infringed upon his registered copyrights in their business practices.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied the allegations and contended that plaintiff's registration was invalid because plaintiff characterized its works as an unpublished collection but plaintiff had previously published the works.

Result

The court entered judgment granting defendant's motion for summary judgment on the grounds that plaintiff's copyright registration was invalid.
