Facts
Plaintiff Johnny Bernard Morris applied for disability insurance benefits and supplemental social security income under the social security act. Morris's application was denied initially and on reconsideration. Morris then requested a hearing before an administrative law judge, who determined that Morris suffered from the severe impairment of degenerative disc disease, but was not disabled. Morris filed for judicial review and appealed the decision.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant committed error when he improperly rejected plaintiff's limitations that were found in the report created by the consultative psychiatric examiner, Dr. Lanita Barnes, because defendant did not actually discuss the limitations.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied the allegations and contended that he gave the appropriate amount of weight to the Dr. Barnes's testimony.
Result
The court entered judgment denying plaintiff's appeal on the grounds that defendant's conclusion that plaintiff was not disabld were supported by sufficient legal evidence. The court also entered judgment in favor of defendant.
