Facts

On November 21, 2014, Michael Shirazi sought treatment at Los Angeles County Medical Center for a mass in his neck, which was later determined to be cancerous. Several months later, Shirazi underwent chemotherapy. He remains in remission.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant negligently delayed diagnosis for several months, resulting in a more complicated chemotherapy regimen. Plaintiff contended that he suffered physical side effects, depression and severe anxiety.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that it did not negligently diagnose plaintiff.

Result

The parties agreed to a $500,000 settlement.
