Facts

U.S., Japanese and European authorities assessed billions of dollars in fines against auto part companies after an investigation on price-fixing and bid-rigging allegations. Defendant Denso Corp. was one of the companies investigated and fined.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: The Office of the California Attorney General filed a complaint against Denso Corp. for allegedly rigging bids and fixing prices on parts purchased by the state's agencies, businesses, and consumers. Plaintiff contended that defendant's rigged bids and fixed prices affected a substantial volume of foreign and domestic vehicle models in the state.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied the contentions.

Result

The parties entered a $4.25 million settlement.
