Facts

On December 20, 2016, William DeBarr filed an application for social security insurance. He was denied in the first instance and then upon reconsideration. An ALJ found that he was not disabled and thus not entitled to benefits.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that he suffered from degenerative disc disease, dizziness, and headaches. Plaintiff contended that his conditions rendered him no longer able to work.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that his plaintiff's conditions were not sufficiently severe to warrant social security benefits. Defendant also contended that plaintiff could perform light work, including lifting up to 20 pounds.

Result

The court granted defendant's motion for summary judgment. The ALJ properly assessed and credited plaintiff's testimony regarding severity.
