Facts

Saira Medina dba Medina's Cleaning and Painting Services filed suit against Torrey Ridge Inc., Fancher Creek, Inc., and Park West Apartments Inc. after she provided cleaning and painting services for defendants and they failed to pay for all the services provided. Plaintiff alleged causes of action for breach of contract, fraud, and receiving stolen property.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended defendants owed her over $9,639 for cleaning services. Plaintiff further contended defendants intentionally refused to pay for the services that she provided despite being sent invoices and receipts for the labor performed. Plaintiff contended defendants obtained plaintiff's labor through false representations and pretenses and thus essentially received stolen property since they did not pay for all of the services and benefits received.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied the contentions and contended plaintiff was not owed any further compensation for the work performed because she had already been paid for the completed services.

Result

The parties reached a settlement agreement for $10,000.
