Ara Badalyan, a 59-year-old male, was brought to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center with a heart condition and died three days later as a result of his heart disease. Badalyan's surviving family brought a wrongful death action against the County of Los Angeles and some of the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center providers.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended the care provided to Badalyan at HUMC fell below the standard of care, and as such, contributed to his death.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied the allegations.
Result
The parties entered into a settlement agreement for $750,000.
