Plaintiff Rafael Arroyo, Jr. filed a lawsuit against Defendant Raspados Xpress LA Inc. under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the Unruh Civil Rights Act in relation to alleged physical barriers he encountered.

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended he was paraplegic and could not walk without the use of a wheelchair. Plaintiff contended he went to Defendant's restaurant Raspados Xpress and encountered physicals barriers. Specifically, he contended that the restaurant did not have accessible sales counters or accessible dining surfaces.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied the contentions.

Defendant was ordered to pay $6,672.50 and to provide a wheelchair accessible sales counter and wheelchair accessible dining surfaces at its restaurant.
