Facts

Frederick Ejiofor was fired from his position as a Riverside County landfill safety monitor. Ejiofor later sued Riverside County for racial discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that he was subjected to racial discrimination upon hiring. When plaintiff reported the treatment he received, he claimed he was told by a supervisor to stop or his personnel evaluations would be negatively impacted. Plaintiff contended he had to miss work for months due to the harassment he was subjected to and was also denied a raise in retaliation for his complaints.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied the contentions.

Result

The parties agreed to a $325,000 pre-trial settlement.
