Facts
Danielle Marie Solano filed for Social Security Disability benefits from the Commissioner of Social Security after being medically diagnosed with bipolar personality disorder, a degenerative disc disease, migraines, and high blood pressure. However, her application for benefits was denied.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that the administrative law judge improperly dismissed the evidence plaintiff presented from her medical expert. Plaintiff contended that the ALJ did not have legally sufficient reasons to require more information to prove plaintiff's disability. Lastly, the ALJ's evaluation process resulted in an opinion that was inconsistent with all the evidence presented in the process.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that the denial was legally sound. The ALJ not only gave proper weight to the evidence that was properly admitted, but the ALJ also made the most sound decision based on the evidence presented.
Result
The court concluded that the ALJ failed to show legally sufficient reasons for rejecting plaintiff's evidence. The case was remanded for further proceedings on the existence and extent of plaintiff's disability.
