On July 25, 2018, Anthony McCarthy filed suit against Kern High School District (KHSD) and Kern High School District Board of Trustees regarding harassment at his job as a police officer, seeking damages and injunctive relief.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff claimed he had been racially discriminated against and sexually harassed by his superior officers, the district and KHSD police ignored his reports of violations, KHSD and KHSDPD retaliated against him for reporting on sexual harassment and defendants failed to take remedial action to prevent harassment.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied the contentions.

Result

The case settled for $225,000.
