Facts

Kamran Khan brought a representative action against defendants Arena Hotel Investment, Inc. and LNS Partners, Inc. on behalf of himself and all other aggrieved employees employed by defendants throughout California pursuant to the Private Attorneys General Act of 2004. Khan alleged that defendants engaged in wage and hour violations under the California Labor Code and Industrial Welfare Commission Wage Orders.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs contended that defendants increased their profits by violating state wage and hour laws. Plaintiffs contended that defendants failed to provide lawful meal periods or compensation for missed meal periods. Plaintiffs contended defendants failed to authorize or permit lawful rest breaks or failed to compensate in lieu thereof. Plaintiffs also contended defendants did not provide accurate itemized wage statements. Plaintiffs contended defendants did not pay all wages upon separation of employment.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied all of the contentions.

Result

The motion to approve PAGA settlement was granted. The case settled for $82,000.
