Colin James Baca was on the job as the Operations Manager for Universal Protection Services when he was injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident involving David George Camerlo, an employee of the City and County of San Francisco. Camerlo was operating a White Freight Truck, which was owned by the City and County. Baca brought suit against Camerlo and the City and County of San Francisco alleging defendants caused him to sustain personal injuries and damages.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended defendants' negligence caused the motor vehicle accident. As a result of causing the accident, Plaintiff contended defendants caused him to suffer injuries. Plaintiff contended defendants' violation of California Vehicle Code Section 21451(a) caused the accident. Plaintiff contended that defendants caused him great physical, mental, and emotional pain and suffering. Plaintiff contended defendants caused him to lose wages.
DEFENDANTS CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied all of the contentions.
Result
The case settled for $265,000 which included settling a related complaint in intervention of XL Specialty Insurance Company.
