Aharon Spry and Christopher Carrillo brought a class action and pursued a Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) action against Prime Lube, Inc. and Blue Sky Golden State, LLC. The class included all current and former hourly non-exempt employees who worked at least one pay period for Prime Lube and/or Blue Sky Golden State in California at any time during the relevant period.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs asserted claims for failure to pay overtime wages; failure to pay minimum wages; failure to provide rest periods; failure to pay meal premiums; failure to pay all wages upon termination; failure to provide accurate wage statements; failure to reimburse employees for business related expenses; and engagement in unfair competition.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied all contentions.

Settlement Discussions

The parties attended mediation with mediator Jeffrey Krivis, Esq., and were ultimately able to reach a settlement of plaintiffs' claims.

Result

The case settled for $210,000.
