Richard Senser brought a putative class and representative action against his employer, Progressive Casualty Insurance Company (PCIC). The class included all current and former hourly non-exempt employees of PCIC during the relevant period.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant failed to fully reimburse its current and former employees for their home office expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Plaintiff asserted claims for reimbursement of business expenses; unfair competition; and penalties under the Private Attorneys General Act.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied all contentions.
Settlement Discussions
The parties participated in settlement discussions, including a full-day of mediation before Steve Rottman. As a result of the mediation, the parties reached a settlement.
