Facts
On Aug. 1, 2019, plaintiff Ross McLennan was riding his motorcycle northbound on Topanga Canyon Boulevard. While proceeding northbound, a U.S. Postal Service mail truck parked on the shoulder of Topanga suddenly pulled into the northbound lane directly into the path of McLennan causing him to be ejected from his motorcycle.
Contentions
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contested liability as well as the nature and extent of plaintiff's injuries and his need for future treatment.
Injuries
McLennan suffered a complex fracture of the left proximal humerus with anterior dislocation of the shoulder joint; nondisplaced comminuted intra-articular fracture of the right distal femur; and a chin laceration. He had multiple surgeries resulting in a good recovery with residual pain and some range of motion limitations.
Result
The case settled for $1.3 million.
