Facts

Vastago Harvesting Inc. was a business involved in crop harvesting. On June 27, 2019, Platon Arvizu filed a class action complaint against Vastago in Monterey County Superior Court.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendants failed to pay all minimum wages, failed to pay all overtime wages, failed to provide all lawful meal periods, failed to authorize and permit all lawful rest periods, failed to issue accurate, itemized wage statements, failed to timely pay all final wages at separation from employment, engaged in unfair and unlawful business practices, and were liable under the Private Attorneys General Act.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied all contentions. They denied they engaged in any unlawful activity, that they failed to comply with the law in any respect, that they were liable to anyone under the claims asserted in the lawsuit, or that they owed any wages, restitution, penalties, or other damages.

Result

The parties settled for $362,500.

On May 7, 2021, defendant filed a certificate of dissolution.
