Facts
Allison Collins filed an application for disability insurance benefits under Title II of the Social Security Act. Two years after she filed her application, Collins passed away, and from that point forward her mother became the substituted party. Following further administrative proceedings, an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) denied Collins' Title II application, concluding that Collins' "medically determinable mental impairments of depression, anxiety, and antisocial personality disorder, considered singly and in combination, did not cause more than minimal limitation in the claimant's ability to perform basic work activities and were therefore non severe."
The appeals council denied a request for review and then Collins' mother sought review in district court.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that the ALJ erred in finding that Collins was not disabled, pointing to the record in this case, which contained several mental health and psychological evaluations.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied all contentions.
Result
Plaintiff's motion for summary judgment was granted.
