Facts

From about March 2, 2016 to January 4, 2018, James Mansapit worked for Deluxe Corporation and Deluxe Check Printers, both Minnesota companies doing business in Santa Clara County. Deluxe Corporation, a payments and business technology company, offering marketing, web development, web hosting, and fraud protection services. Part of its services includes Deluxe Check Printers which produces personal and business checks. On January 6, 2020, Mansapit filed suit against Deluxe and Deluxe Checks in Santa Clara County Superior.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff alleged that defendants failed to do the following: provide meal and rest periods; pay premium wages for missed meal and/or rest periods, including the regular rate of pay; pay minimum wage for hours worked; pay overtime or double time wages at the correct rate; include all applicable remuneration in calculating pay; provide accurate, written wage statements and; pay all final wages on employment separation.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied any liability to plaintiff or class members for any matter whatsoever.

Result

The case settled for a total non-reversionary amount of $525,000.
