Facts

On April 23, 2021, German Espinosa, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, brought a class action lawsuit against States Drawer Box Specialties, LLC, alleging various Labor Code violations. The class included all current and former non-exempt employees of States Drawer Box Specialties, LLC who worked in California from April 23, 2017, through June 30, 2022.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff alleged that defendants failed to: pay non-exempt employees all minimum wages and overtime wages owed due to defendant's minimum wage and overtime wage policies and practices, provide meal periods or pay meal period premiums for missed or non-compliant meal periods, authorize and permit rest periods or pay rest period premiums for missed or non-compliant rest periods, issue accurate and complete itemized wage statements to non-exempt employees, and pay all final wages owed to non-exempt employees who separated their employment from defendant. Further, plaintiff contended that defendant engaged in unlawful business practices in violation of the California Business and Professions Code.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied all contentions.

Result

Defendant agreed to pay $350,000 to resolve all claims.
