Sandra Wallace worked for the Alvarado Restaurant Group LLC. On July 13, 2020, she filed a Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) representative action complaint against the Alvarado Restaurant Group LLC, Palo Alto Inc., and Palo Verde Inc. in Los Angeles Superior seeking to represent hourly paid or non-exempt employees from May 9, 2019 through July 5, 2021.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant violated several California wage and hour laws. Consequently, defendants owe penalties under PAGA.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant did not admit to any wrongdoing or liability.

Result

The case settled for $2.25 million, with the PAGA members receiving a *pro rata* share of the PAGA payment of $356,858.65.
