On March 15, 2021, Justine Dharni filed wage-and-hour claims against Dentsu McGarry Bowen LLC in San Francisco Superior. On May 19, 2021, Dharni amended her complaint to add a Private Attorneys General Act cause of action.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant: failed to provide accurate itemized wage statements; and failed to reimburse necessary business expenses. Moreover, those actions constituted unfair business practices, meriting civil and other penalties.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied each allegation, denying any liability to plaintiff or the purported class members.
Settlement Discussions
On December 22, 2021, the parties engaged in mediation with Jeffrey Krivis, and reached an agreement on the key terms of the settlement, which was memorialized in a Memorandum of Understanding the following day.
Result
The parties agreed to settle for $300,000.
