Facts
Plaintiff Meshak Moore rented the subject property for a 2-month rental period. Almost immediately plaintiff began to suffer from bed bug bites. It took several weeks for plaintiff to discover what had been biting him. Upon closer inspection, plaintiff discovered an infestation of bed bugs at the property. Plaintiff was bitten hundreds of times.
Result
Plaintiff was awarded $500,000 with 25% contributory negligence, resulting in a $375,000 award.
