Facts

Juan Aviles Amaya worked for Purosil LLC. On July 12, 2022, Aviles Amaya filed suit against Purosil in Riverside Superior alleging several violations of wage-and-hour laws. He sought to represent Purosil employees who worked from July 12, 2018 to June 5, 2023.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant: failed to pay minimum wages; failed to pay overtime compensation; failed to provide meal periods; failed to authorize and permit rest breaks; failed to indemnify necessary business expenses; failed to timely pay wages at termination; failed to provide accurate and itemized wage statements; and violated provisions of the Business & Professions Code and defendant was liable for penalties under the Private Attorneys General Act.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied all plaintiff's claims and contentions, maintaining it complied fully with legal requirements.

Settlement Discussions

On March 7, 2023, the parties participated in a full day mediation with Michael Young, Esq., which resulted in a settlement.

Result

The case settled for $435,000.
