Facts

From about June 2021 to January 2022, Griselda Garcia worked for RSG/AAMES Security Inc. as a general laborer. On March 15, 2022, she sent a notice of Labor Code Violations and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) penalties letter to RSG/AAMES Security. Three days later, she filed suit in Los Angeles Superior.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff claimed that defendant: failed to pay minimum and all overtime wages; failed to provide meal periods; failed to authorize and permit all rest breaks; failed to indemnify necessary business expenses; failed to timely pay final wages on termination; failed to provide accurate, itemized statements; and unfair business practices. She later amended her complaint to include a PAGA claim.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied plaintiff's allegations, any failure to comply with applicable laws, and any liability for the asserted causes of action.

Settlement Discussions

The parties participated in all-day mediation presided over by Mark Rudy, Esq. on March 23, 2023 which led to a settlement agreement.

Result

The case settled for $275,000.
