Facts

On February 10, 2022, Santos Aparicio and Andres Avina, individually and on behalf of other members of the general public similarly situated, brought a class action against Cameron Welding Supply, alleging various Labor Code violations. The class included all current and former hourly-paid or non-exempt employees of Cameron Welding Supply within California at any time from February 10, 2018, through April 12, 2023.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs argued that defendant failed to: pay overtime wages, pay meal period premiums, pay rest period premiums, pay minimum wages, timely pay final wages, provide compliant wage statements, and reimburse for business expenses for its non-exempt California employees during the class period.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied all contentions.

Settlement Discussions

On January 12, 2023, the parties remotely attended mediation with the mediator Lisa Klerman that resulted in a settlement agreement.

Result

Cameron Welding Supply agreed to pay $431,000 to settle the case.
