Facts

On November 3, 2021, Shavonne Hammers and Kilda Chiloquin filed a wage-and-hour lawsuit against Redwood Oil Company in Sonoma Superior. They sought to represent employees who worked for Redwood Oil from November 3, 2017 through November 30, 2022.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant failed to: pay minimum and/or overtime wages; provide meal periods; authorize and permit rest breaks; timely pay final wages on termination; and provide accurate, itemized statements.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied all allegations and asserted claims.

Settlement Discussions

On August 23, 2022, the parties participated in an all-day mediation with Mark Rudy, and through further settlement discussions reached an agreement.

Result

The case settled for $1.18 million.
