Facts
Steven Robert Prescott, later joined by several additional plaintiffs, brought a class action against Reckitt Benckiser, alleging that it misrepresented that its Woolite Darks and Gentle Cycle laundry detergents would renew or revive color in clothing, when instead, the opposite occurred. Reckitt disputed the allegation and contended that the detergents contained technology to renew and revive color in clothing and that the detergents did so. The court certified three distinct classes.
Result
The parties agreed to a settlement amount of $3,275,000.00, which included attorneys' fees not to exceed $400,000.00; $200,000.00 towards Settlement Administration; and a $10,000 Class Representative payment to each of the six plaintiffs (totaling $60,000).
