Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff contended that defendant failed to: pay minimum wages; pay overtime; provide complete wage statements; provide compliant meal and rest periods and/or pay for those missed periods; reimburse business expenses; pay wages timely; pay final wages; maintain accurate time records. Accordingly, plaintiff also sought penalties pursuant to Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) and unfair competition laws.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied: the allegations; any failure to comply with pertinent laws; and any and all liability for the asserted causes of action.
Settlement Discussions
The parties participated in mediation with Lisa Klerman on March 30, 2023, which led to a settlement agreement.
Result
The case settled for $1 million.
