Facts

On December 10, 2019, Mary Erichsen tripped and fell over a three-inch piece of broken concrete on a sidewalk in front of 5410 North Barranca Avenue in Los Angeles County. Erichsen brought a complaint against the County of Los Angeles and the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff alleged that she fell due to the dangerous condition of public property and that the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works was responsible for her injuries because it failed to properly maintain the sidewalk where she fell. She also contended that she suffered orthopedic injuries as a result of his fall.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied all contentions.

Result

Defendants agreed to pay $99,000 to settle the case.
