On May 19, 2020, Tschera Echeverria sent a letter to the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency and to Triton Global Services Inc. (Triton) notifying them of the alleged Labor Code violations. On July 22, 2020, Echeverria, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, brought a class action against Triton, alleging various Labor Code violations. The class included all current and former Californians who worked as non-exempt employees for Triton between April 6, 2016, and August 16, 2023.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs alleged that defendant failed to: provide employment records, pay overtime and double time wages, pay minimum wages, provide notice of paid sick time and accrual, timely pay wages and final wages, provide accurate itemized wage statements, allow for compliant rest periods or rest period premiums in lieu thereof, provide compliant meal periods or meal period premiums in lieu thereof, and reimburse necessary business expenses for its non-exempt California employees during the class period.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied all contentions.

Settlement Discussions

On July 9, 2021, the parties participated in mediation with Steve Pearl, Esq.

Result

Triton Global Services Inc. agreed to pay $200,000 to settle all claims.
