On June 30, 2020, Taniya Abron sued University Healthcare Alliance for wage-and-hour violations in Alameda Superior. Plaintiff also asserted a cause of action for Private Attorneys General Act violation.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff alleged that defendant failed to: pay wages for all hours worked; timely pay wages due on termination and; provide accurate, itemized wage statements.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied all material contentions.

Settlement Discussions

On March 11, 2022, the parties participated in mediation with Tripper Ortman. Though not reaching an agreement that day, on May 16, 2022, the mediator made a proposal which both parties accepted the following day.

Result

The case settled for $5 million.
