Facts

Enrico Ivy was employed in a nonexempt position by Made and Modern Hard Goods Incorporated. On August 18, 2022, he filed suit against Made and Modern on behalf of himself and all those similarly situated in Solano County Superior Court.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Ivy contended that Made and Modern had violated various provisions of the Labor Code, and as a result, it was liable for damages as well as civil penalties under the Private Attorneys General Act of 2004.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Made and Modern denied any wrongdoing or liability and all Ivy's material allegations.

Result

The parties reached an agreement wherein the defendant admitted no wrongdoing or liability but agreed to pay $417,500 to settle class members' and PAGA claims.
