Facts
In this medical malpractice case, plaintiff alleged that defendants, Saint Agnes Medical Center and Kalwant Dhillon, M.D. were negligent in their care and treatment of plaintiff's hernia repair surgery in 2022. Plaintiff alleged that defendants failed to properly treat him and that, as a result of their negligence, his left testicle sustained injuries requiring its surgical removal. Dr. Dhillon moved for summary judgment.
Result
Dr. Dhillon submitted a declaration by expert Jonathan Carter, M.D., a physician who treated and cared for many patients like plaintiff with left inguinal hernias. Based on his knowledge, education, training, and professional experience, Dr. Carter concluded that Dr. Dhillon complied with the applicable standard of care. Plaintiff filed no opposition to the motion. Accordingly, the court granted summary judgment in defendant's favor. Summary judgment was later granted to defendant Saint Agnes Medical Center.
