Facts
On February 9, 1990, Plaintiff, a 52-year-old self-employed interior decorator, was leaving her chiropractor's office when she slipped and fell on loose and cracked tile. Defendant was the management company responsible for maintenance of the property. Plaintiff had had a long history of medical complaints concerning her back, neck, and ribs. Defendant management company acknowledged liability, since they had notice from tenants complaining about the cracked tile condition.
Settlement Discussions
Defendant contends their offer was $100,000 increased to $175,000 partially structured; and Plaintiff initially demanded $1,000,000 decreased at the VSC (one month before scheduled trial date) to $325,000.
