Facts
This case involves the death of actor Steve Brodie. His 200 movies included The Cane Mutiny and Home of the Brave. In 1991 he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. During two hospitalizations in December of 1991 and January of 1992, Brodie received a catheter for blood tests and chemotherapy. The proper placement of the catheter was to be in the superior vena cava. On January 9, 1992, Steve Brodie died. Plaintiff was the decedent's surviving spouse.
