On October 15, 1992, Plaintiff H. Latees Kareem, a 38-year-old sales and marketing representative, had been employed by Defendant Compaq for 5.5 years and was terminated. He was the only African American in his division and the only one terminated. Non-African American employees with lesser seniority were retained. Allegedly no explanation was offered to Plaintiff as to why he was terminated.
