Facts
On December 6, 1990 Plaintiff Cedric Ainsworth, an 18-year-old student, and Defendant Clifton Jones, a 16-year-old student, were attending Centennial High School in Defendant Compton Unified School District. After seeing Ainsworth chasing Jones across the school yard during class time, a school police officer took both boys to the vice principal's office. The two were seated next to each other and left unsupervised. Defendant Jones got up and went to a trophy case, took a trophy out, walked back into the office, and struck Plaintiff 4 times in the head.

Plaintiff contends they demanded $50,000 and Defendants offered $15,000. Defendant contends Plaintiff's last settlement demand before trial was $60,000; and a $50,000 demand was made the testimony of Plaintiff in the case in chief.
