Facts

In December of 1988, Plaintiffs, three 13-year-old female students, were befriended by an apartment complex manager in Livermore. Two of the minors resided at the complex (with their respective parents). Over a period of several weeks, the manager admittedly invited the Plaintiffs to his apartment by offering them cigarettes and alcohol. Once inside, the manager (previously convicted of a sex offense involving a child, "child abuse") conducted himself in a lewd and obscene manner. He later pleaded guilty to three felony counts of CA Penal Code Section 647.6 violation.

Settlement Discussions

Plaintiffs contend no offers or demands were exchanged prior to the Voluntary Settlement Conference. Defendant contends the global demand was in excess of $1,000,000 prior to mediation.

Injuries

Residual severe psychological injuries; 2 of the Plaintiffs attempted suicide; and all three require ongoing therapy.
