Facts
On June 27, 1992, Plaintiff, a 41-year-old musician and delivery-truck driver, was invited to a party given by Defendant neighbor, a studio (self-employed, part-time) engineer. Defendant asked Plaintiff to assist him in setting up a speaker on a roof overhang. Defendant positioned himself on the a chair; Plaintiff was below. After Plaintiff handed the speaker to Defendant, Defendant positioned the speaker, weighing 10 to 15 pounds. The speaker fell on the Plaintiff, causing injury.
Settlement Discussions
Plaintiff contends he demanded $45,000 and Defendant offered $6,000. Defendant contends his offer was $22,000.
