Facts

On November 19, 1992, a plumber's torch started a fire at a construction site in Brentwood. The fire spread to adjacent buildings. Half of the claims were subrogation claims.

Settlement Discussions

Plaintiffs contend their demands were: $2,600,000; $830,000; $3,000,000; $1,000,000 (998); and $4,500,000 (998) respectively--and that the respective offers by Defendants were: $1,000,000; $450,000; $870,000 (998); $200,000 (998) and $780,000 (998)

Damages

The damages to both buildings included personal property to both personal and business interests, loss of the use damages, loss of profits, diminution in value, and minor medical damages due to emotional distress.
