On March 4, 1993, Plaintiff Teresa Torrero Chavarin, a 28-year-old housewife, was driving when her vehicle was struck in a rear end collision by Defendant Maurice Gonzales II, a Defendant City of San Diego truck driver. Plaintiff Martha Chavarin, a 44-year-old housewife, was a passenger in Teresa Torrero's vehicle. The City of San Diego admitted liability.
