On August 7, 1993, Plaintiff Virginia Mardigian, an 84-year-old homemaker, attended a wedding reception at Defendant Sheraton Universal Hotel. While walking through the lobby with the assistance of a cane, Plaintiff was allegedly struck by a luggage cart and knocked to the ground.
