Facts
This case involved claims of federal civil rights and state tort violations against 2 Los Angeles Police Department officers by a Hispanic young man and his 2 teenage female relatives at the site of a residential party. On April 28, 1991, Defendant officers Sandra Infante and Peter Noonan returned to the site of a loud party disturbance call at 11 p.m. There was a dispute as to whether or not a feuding neighbor placed the call in retaliation. Defendant officers entered through the backyard; Defendant Noonan then told his partner Infante to move their police vehicle out of Plaintiffs' driveway. Subsequent events were disputed. Plaintiffs were Edward Estrada, a 22-year-old carpenter; Celina Estrada, a 14-year-old student; and Faviola Almendarez, a 19-year-old office worker.
